7-Step Natural Flu Battle Protocol

Since the FDA has been cracking down on people who dare say anything but a drug could be effective against H1N1 or the seasonal flu, (Dr. Andrew Weil has recently been threatened with jail time) The following information is for educational purposes only and not intended to treat or prevent any disease.

Use These 7 Tips If You Find Yourself

In The Middle Of The Flu!

 

1. Avoid sugar at all costs.  It puts your white blood cells to sleep

2. Drink green smoothies or green juice as much as possible.   It's a great time to take in nothing else BUT the smoothie or green juice if you have a juicer.  Here's one of my staple recipes:

Green Smoothie (stack blender in this order) – 1 green granny smith apple, 2 stalks of celery, 1 cucumber, ¼ to ½ lemon, big bunch of Kale, ½ an avocado (binds smoothie so it doesn’t separate), 1 tsp to a tablespoon or MORE of chopped fresh ginger root, fill with water or coconut water, add 4 or 5 ice cubes,  blend thoroughly and ENJOY in a nice glass! (just use apple/kale/lemon/ginger for a quickie) Check YouTube for other ideas and get creative yourself!!
 
3.  High dose Vitamin D3 : instead of the 5 to 10,000iu/day you should do for prevention or to build your tissue levels, I follow Dr. John Cannell, President of The Vitamin D Council's advice during the battle.  (*At the following dosage, vitamin D3 acts like a medicine, not a supplement!)
 
     Take 2,000 IU per kg (roughly 1000 IU per pound) of body weight per day for a week. I weigh 200 pounds, so I would take 200,000 IU per day for up to seven days (yes, it's a boatload! But check this recent study proving no adverse effects of even 300,000 IU! (Scandinavian Journal of Rheumatology, Volume 38, Number 2, 2009 , pp. 149-153(5).
 
4. High Dose Vitamin C (over the counter ascorbic acid can cause gut irritation and diarrhea at high doses so we use Ultra Potent C from Metagenics as our first choice, second form is a mineral ascorbate form)  I usually put 10 or 15 tablets in my pocket and and take 2 every 2 or 3 hours till their gone.
 
5. Boost Zinc – Use a chelated form like Zinc arginate picolinate, the -ate on the end is important.  Zinc AG from Metagenics is what I use to mobilize the immune cells into action.  Take up to 100mg/day but only for a short time until you get yourself out of the gutter.
 
6. Eat tons of garlic!  Just crunch on cloves throughout the day.  Very powerful herbal medicine.
 
7. Get adusted!  Chiropractic adjustments are proven to release "messenger molecules" like interleuken-2 to rouse the immune system into full force action!
 
REMEMBER…the underlying factor at the core of a struggling immune system is stress.  Do everything in your power to relax and rest your body, live in a state of gratitude for what you have instead of worrying about what you don't have!  As I talk about at length in the Immune Optimizer program, your immune system is a direct reflection of your thoughts, feelings, and emotions.
