The Romaine Lettuce Guide For Spine and Brain Decongestion

One of the biggest problems I see in my practice and in my online coaching students is compression.

You know how everything sometimes just feels heavy and “squished together” and it just feels like it needs to be “pulled apart”? It’s a sign that you are out of balance and losing your battle with gravity!

So today I share 3 practical steps you can use to decompress, or as I refer to it in the video, “decongest” your body and your mind. Ah what the heck, let’s just call it your bodymind, it’s all the same thing anyway 🙂

Join me in the backyard garden as a simple “previously congested” romaine lettuce patch provides the inspiration for these 3 BodyMind “Decongestion” tips!

If you have any comments or questions please leave a comment below! I always read them all and reply to as many as I can!

Romaine Lettuce Guide To Brain And Spinal Decongestion

  1. Hey steve, i was wondering about lettuce. What would you recommend as a daily dosage ? I bet you can eat loads of it, but then my jaw would probably get abit tired of it aswell. Have tried to use about 1/2-1 a lettuce a day. Amusing fact about the indians, thankyou

    • I shoot for one or 2 HUGE salads a day (the salad IS the meal…not a paltry side thing) along with an additional green smoothie (usually in the morning) that will may or may not have lettuce in it along with parsley, kale, spinach, lemon, and green apple or pineapple or banana or mango or berries or watermelon or whatever.

Limit grain, skyrocket green consumption and watch the transformation happen!

      • Yeah when im able to eat 1 lettuce, 1 cucumber, 3 paprika, 1 squash, 1 box of corn and pineapple(about 100grams in each box), 3 bananas, 500g-1k rice my body tends to be pretty happy. So i might not have been clear when i asked you, but when does the ammount of lettuce you eat starts to decrease in value compared to other nutrients i could have use for. I know kale is very healthy, but in norway it's not really easy to find it in stores where i live. Also wondering about spinach, have sometimes eatn about 200grams, might be a littlebit excessive. Reason why im asking is because i have aspergers syndrom, so if i can eat things daily they are almost like a requirement for me. Thank you for the answer, and i hope that my somewhat limited understanding haven't caused any problems.

        • I don’t know the answer to that question, Daniel.  Go with what makes you feel the most energy in the most peaceful way.  Everyone is so different.

  2. Loved the video.  I find myself stopping to consciously stand straighter every day, especially after my trip to Michigan this past weekend when a friend said, you are getting shorter.  And I am reading more and more about the benefits of green smoothies so I am trying to incorporate into my eating plan again.

    • Stay vertical Diana!  Keep it up!

Regarding your smoothie incorporation, I have to quote a scene from Star Wars,

Luke: “All right, I’ll give it a try.”

Yoda: “No. Try not. Do… or do not. There is no try.

Just a gentle nudge.  You know you feel so much better when you’re doing it.

  3. Loved the video and will keep trying! Lately I 've noticed the feeling of my ribcage sinking as I sit at the sewing machine or computer. Need to remind myself to stop and push away, I think.

Thanks for being there. I miss centering class!

  4. Where may I find the earlier video about the location of the points from which one pushes away?
Also, what is your opinion about powdered greens in smoothies?

  5. Thanks for the video Steve – good timing for me too… but also brilliant timing for your quote –

Yoda: “No. Try not. Do… or do not. There is no try.

Currently, I am full of excuses as I'm exhausted from moving house… the new fridge is an annoying layout and therefore I've not been inclined to shop or prepare good green meals (easy quick grain filled meals have taken over again) and the only potential space for exercises is taken up with half emptied boxes, and I've not allowed even a second to meditate on breathing or to simply be still. But you are right. I just need to "do". And do all 3 – nutrition, body and mind wellness…  Thanks for the motivation once again. Kristina

      • The Force was with me last night – I restocked the fridge with good clean green food! Yay! There's a space in the lounge now and I did a mini circuit today! Currently drinking fresh mint tea… I'M BACK!
